Video Business reports that New Medium Enterprises, the backer of HD VMD, is expanding its campaign to compete with Blu-ray and HD DVD.

Many industry officials have expressed hope that the high-def format war will end soon. But like an insurgent presidential candidate, New Medium vows to stay in the race, promising cheaper players and discs.
